It Takes a Community to Knock Me Up

In order for me to get pregnant, it will literally take a village. We would like to thank the following people for helping us on the road to starting a family. (This is very much a work in progress and not a complete list yet.)

1. All of the phone calls, texts, messages, homemade dinners, laughs, and attempts to make us laugh. There aren’t enough ways for us to say thank you. We are crazy lucky.
   
2. All of the people, friends, family, and strangers, who donated to or shared our GoFund Me campaign. We literally would not be here without you and could never repay you our gratitude. Thank you!
   
3. Our ridiculous cats Midge and Poppy.
   
4. The show “Bosom Buddies” and every single thing about Tom Hanks.
   
5. My mom, for offering to give me her eggs instead. I knew she was kidding but it was a really sweet gesture.
   
6. My sister for also offering to donate her eggs, for starting the GoFund Me page, for starting a non-profit to raise money for other individuals going through infertility. Where do I even start with this one?
   
7. The emotional and financial support from our families, beyond comprehension!
   
8. All five of our fertility doctors, even the one who looked like Jon Cryer and called my uterus beautiful.
   
9. The nurses who take my blood, even the one who always leaves a bruise.
   
10. The ultrasound techs, especially the ones who like to talk about poetry and listen to upbeat music in the exam room.
    
11. The FedEx driver who called me at 4:30 p.m. to make sure I was home since he couldn’t leave the package on the porch and he wanted to make sure I got it. (I wanted to faint, holding the box of medications that cost almost $5,000. He had no idea what his kindness meant to me.)
    
12. The sweet person from the pharmaceutical company who went over my medication list and didn’t laugh when I told her it was too long.
